Beer And Mechs is a classic BattleTech tournament that mixes stompy robots with alcohol, which can only end well!
*Entry & Prizes:* $15 entry for pre-booking. On the day $20. Please pre-book so we can secure the venue!
Tickets will be on sale through The local taproom website.
1st prize, Sunbeam beer mate 6 litre Kegerator, Runner-up (top 6 prize) 1 A4 sheet of custom waterslide decals of your choice.
*When* doors open 1000, beers flow from 1100. Date Saturday the 5th of April 2025. Mech action from 1030.
*Where* "The Local Taproom" Bacchus Marsh, a short 13 min (1.0 km) walk from Bacchus marsh train station
Southern Cross Railway Station vline departs 9:17am
(Regional Train to Wendouree) arrives at Bacchus Marsh Railway Station at 10:01am
The venue has 12 local independent brewed beers on tap, plus local wines and spirits, bar snacks and pizza from 12.

*Seriousness* The main objective is for us to get invited back and for everyone to have some classic BattleTech Solaris style fun. But there are prizes.
*What:* A Classic BattleTech Battle Royale, in a 3D printed Stadium! With 12 entry gates, rising and lowering walls and a domination trap door at the centre of the stadium for quick evacuation for repairs.
Complete your movement phase on domination point for 20 points.
1 point is awarded per point of damage dealt.
2 points are subtracted per 1 point of armour repaired by exiting using the trap door (optionally activated in end phase) or a entry gate Mechbay. No structure repairs or equipment repairs available.
*Initiative*
Initiative will be randomised each round. (EDIT - REVISED FROM CLOCKWISE CONTINUEOUS)
Round one will be movement only, round two, weapons are online.
*Rules and Ruleset:*
Mech building - Up to experimental tech
You may bring One custom mech maximum 2500 bv2 including pilot and gunnery skills.
Pilot and Gunnery must be no less than 2 and not greater than 5 inclusive.

Armour- Any and Patchwork armour is allowed.
Sorry, No Special Pilot abilities will be in use.
Ammunition - No Smoke, artillery, listen kill missiles or mines to avoid injuring the audience or blocking view of the spectators!
A self destruction must be declared the weapons declaration phase turn prior to a self destruction event in the weapons phase of the following turn.
Please print or have at the ready lesser known rules you plan on using.
*To bring:*
Painted mechs and applicable record sheet (Best mech in show wins a prize, and this year that's not a trap)
Money for food and drink, Bar Menu in pictures.
Post tournament, The Tap room is open till late. Feel free to play on, Alpha strike or otherwise!
Beer and Mechs is hosted at The Local Taproom in Bacchus Marsh.
The location is close to Bacchus Marsh train station, so you may not have to drive. Spectators/ designated drivers are of course welcome and get free entry.
